The VICE Mac port currently consists of three versions: X11 with Athena widgets, GTK+ on X11 and native Cocoa. All ports are maintained but the focus of development lies on the the Cocoa port as it provides the native interface for Macs and also has most features.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/files\/vice\/x64-cocoa-snap.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none;\" src=\"\/files\/vice\/x64-cocoa-snap-thumb.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>1. MacVICE<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/files\/vice\/x64.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>1.1 MacVICE Forum<\/h3>\n<p>There is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ultimateamiga.co.uk\/index.php\/topic,8938.0.html\">MacVICE Thread<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doremac.com\">doremac.com<\/a>. Please post your questions, suggestions and other information related to MacVICE there. Thank you!<\/p>\n<h3>1.2 MacVICE as Project on VICE-emu.sf.net<\/h3>\n<p>Recently, the official VICE source code moved to SourceForge. The MacVICE source tree is now included in the public repository in the main development branch <strong>trunk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/vice-emu\">VICE-emu SF.net Page<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vice-emu.svn.sourceforge.net\/viewvc\/vice-emu\/trunk\/vice\/\">SVN View of Development Trunk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>1.3 Current Development Versions<\/h3>\n<p>The following versions of MacVICE are <em>development snapshots<\/em> of the current branch in the MacVICE tree of vice-emu.sf.net. It is intended for testing purposes only. They may be unstable and\/or incomplete and are mainly intended for <em>beta testers<\/em>. If you want to join testing then simply download a current snapshot, test it and submit a detailed bug report or even source patches. Just mail me (lallafa) at this domain. Any feedback is very welcome! Thank you!<br \/>\nEnd users should download the official versions available at the <a title=\"VICE Homepage\" href=\"http:\/\/www.viceteam.org\">VICE Homepage<\/a>. Support can only be given for these release versions. With the snapshots you are on your own, and I assume you know what you are doing \ud83d\ude09<br \/>\nThe snapshot versions are tagged with the VICE development version, the revision of the sf.net repository and the current date.<\/p>\n<h3>1.4 Download MacVICE Snapshots<\/h3>\n<p>Download the most recent version here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/files\/vice\/snapshots\">Enter the MacVICE File Area<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The following flavors of MacVICE are available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>cocoa-i386+ppc-10.5-gcc40<\/strong><br \/>\nCocoa UI running on Intel and PPC Mac, requires OSX 10.5<br \/>\nmost common &#8211; use this one!<\/li>\n<li><strong>cocoa-i386+ppc-10.4-gcc40<br \/>\n<\/strong>Same as above but runs on OSX 10.4, too but lacks some features.<\/li>\n<li><strong>cocoa-i386+x86_64-10.6-gcc42<br \/>\n<\/strong>Also Cocoa UI but this time 32-bit and 64-bit support for Intel Macs.<br \/>\nNo more PPC Support. Requires OSX 10.6<\/li>\n<li><strong>cocoa-i386+x86_64-10.6-clang<br \/>\n<\/strong>Same as above but compiled with alternative compiler. Might result it better performance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>sdl-i386+ppc-10.4-gcc40<\/strong><br \/>\nUses SDL library UI &#8211; not native! Runs on Intel and PPC and requires OSX 10.4 and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.libsdl.org\/\"> SDL Library<\/a> Framework installed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>gtk-i386+ppc-10.4-gcc40<\/strong><br \/>\nUses GTK+ UI (running on X11) &#8211; not native!
